GUYS AND DOLLS - 1995
Performed in Ardrishaig Public Hall and Bowmore Hall Islay in 1995, under the same Production Team as before.
As ever, the memories are very often of things that went wrong rather than things that went right. One vivid memory was of Neville Taylor who was playing the part of Nicely-Nicely Johnson. He was in the middle of singing that well-known song "Sit Down, You're Rocking The Boat", when we became aware that the audience had become restless, and indeed had started to laugh at something. It then become obvious that Neville's flies were undone. His wife who was in the audience was dying of embarrassment. Gary Wilson, however, saved the day, for when Neville was to fall back onto waiting arms, Gary zipped him up. Well done Gary!
Another abiding memory, although not quite so fondly remembered by those who took part, was The Mission Band. They had to walk across the stage throughout the Show, dressed in a lovely shade of grey, beating a drum and singing "Follow The Fold". The things that we have to do for our art!
